A Brief Update on My Unplanned Absence

Hello all readers. Regular readers might be wondering where I've been the past month or so. The short answer is: life is busy. Much busier than it has even been for me.

First of all, I moved state. For an Aussie who's lived in one city his whole life, this was a huge, enormous, life-changing move (not an exaggeration.) I still had time to work on the blog once I settled in, as work wasn't stable.

However, that all changed a few weeks ago. My new job picked up significant pace, which meant I had to be wiser with my time. Learning how to manage my time was a significant challenge, as I've always been hopeless at time management being someone who moves on impulse and prefers spontaneity. This caused me to drop the blog, as I was constantly tired and unmotivated to keep working at it, especially with the huge score revision and other projects I was working on at the time.

Then, last week I began a new course of study.

Essentially, I'm now working part-time and studying full-time. My spare time is incredibly limited, and my motivation to work on the blog had been extremely low. Honestly, I've just been playing Pokemon solo challenges when I needed some downtime.

I'm starting to get burnt out on that, though, and my motivation to resume the blog is returning. I have not been unaware of the significant jump in views recently, and that's encouraged me. The YouTube channel is also building slowly and steadily.

So, what does that all mean for the blog?

Well, it means I'm resuming work on it after my somewhat forced hiatus / burn out. The score revision was almost done before I paused, so that will be out soon, I'm hoping. I just want to proofread and double-check that everything is inputted correctly on my master list and tier list.

Movement will be much slower than it was previously, however, as I only have a very limited amount of free time. I won't promise any timelines, as I'm still trying to get my act together and manage all the new moving parts of life, and other things take priority, which I'm sure is understandable.

So, I'm not dead, the blog is not dead. I'm just in a new phase of life and trying to figure it all out, so the blog has been on the backburner. It remains fully alive and in my thoughts, and this wild project will continue as long as I draw breath.

One final comment. This is directed straight at you, reader. The readership has gone up significantly, but none of you have commented on any articles or followed the blog.

If you are enjoying my content, I urge you to get involved. Comment on articles, and follow the blog to stay up-to-date with new posts. Share the blog, tell your friends, tell your neighbours, even tell your neighbour's dog. Spread this content so that video game history can be spread and appreciated by more and more people.

That's all I'll say in this update. Keep your eyes peeled for more.
